Georgie Campbell Foundation Code of Conduct

This Code is a guide for good practice which will ensure integrity, equality, and fair play for riders and their horses, teams and associates. Everyone involved in the Georgie Campbell Foundation has a responsibility to always maintain the highest standards of behaviour.

Georgie Campbell Foundation beneficiaries must:

  • A warm, kind, joyful, and enthusiastic outlook
  • A genuine love of eventing and the equestrian community
  • Continue to fulfil the application criteria for the Georgie Campbell Foundation
  • Applicants should be:
    • Registered with BE
    • Competing at 3* level or above
    • At an early stage with their eventing business
    • Able to demonstrate their need for support and ambition to progress
    • Willing to provide references and their business accounts and business plan (if applicable)
    • Committed to the sport of eventing long term
  • Applicants should not:
    • Have received substantial prior financial backing
    • Have benefitted or be benefitting from significant support such as a World Class Programme
  • Accept the decisions of the Georgie Campbell Foundation selection committee as final
  • Adhere to the Foundation's commitment and performance assessment process
  • Be excellent role models, maintaining high standards of professionalism whilst promoting a positive image to equestrians and the wider public
  • Prioritise the well-being, safety, and protection of horses and riders, above improving performance and competition
  • React to success and failure with dignity and composure, treating their competitors, horses, teams, and associates with respect
  • Act with self-control and tolerance when training and competing
  • Treat owners, grooms, judges, officials, family members, and all other involved parties with courtesy and respect
  • Support open and transparent environments where people are comfortable being themselves
  • Act responsibly, respectfully, and constructively on social media and online as well as in face-to-face interactions
  • Read and comply with all the relevant sporting policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Ensure that the sport of eventing is as safe as possible and free from any form of bullying, harassment, abuse, discrimination, or prejudice
  • Be inclusive and embrace an open-minded attitude to equality and diversity
  • Uphold confidentiality by ensuring personal information is collected and stored under the guidance of the Date Protection Act 2018
  • Always dress appropriately in all settings
